i had big plans for my ~spring launch~, but unfortunately, life got in the way (and when i say “life” i mean “my bad attitude”). you ever have one of those days when you feel like everything that could possibly go wrong has, well, gone wrong? that’s been pretty much my entire month, all focused on my sewing. i can’t even begin to tell y’all how much i’ve trashed and/or given up on. i have an entire box of UFOs that will probably remain like that forever.
not that all my sewing has been tragic – my projects for my personal wardrobe are looking AWESOME if i do say so myself. despite all the inspiration i’ve given myself and the good intentions i had for this line, the end result is not exactly what i had in mind (at least not quantity-wise). but that’s ok! i’m not beating myself up over it – i’ve got the rest of the year to cultivate something marvelous. in the meantime, i’ve squeezed out 7 pieces. haha, 7, so sad.
here are a few of my pieces; sorry the image quality is SO BAD, i took these right before i left for work this morning.
black & white chevron w/turquoise dress:
the banding at the bottom is a bit of stretch lace.
as you can see here, the back is turquoise. gawd i love turquoise.
sherbert dress:
not pictured – i made another one in blue/green/white
the hem on the half-circle skirt is even, i’m just standing crooked.
faded blue bow dress:
this dress was really hard to take pictures of, with & without flash. ugh. sucks because it’s my favorite one! there is a tiny peter pan collar with a white detachable bow, princess seams, & military-inspired tabs at the waist with non-functioning buttons. the skirt is an a-line.
green/white stripe dress:
just on the hanger, didn’t have time to get a picture on an actual human. SRY.
the other pieces have been photographed for the spring premiere this saturday. i have not seen the pictures yet but i don’t doubt that they are awesome!
in the meantime, i’ve been scraping away at the ceylon and it is almost complete 🙂 i have 8 more buttons to sew on & the hem needs to be hand stitched. exciting!
