    • LLADYBIRD July 10, 2015 at 7:56 am #

Sometimes I go to NYC to teach a pants-making workshop at Workroom Social in Brooklyn! Dunno if pants are your jam or not, but you should totally consider coming to the next one we do 😀

      • Abigail July 10, 2015 at 9:34 am #

Thank you, please let me know when you do that!

        • LLADYBIRD July 20, 2015 at 11:11 am #

Hey! We’ve just added a fall date for the next Pants Making Intensive! November 7-8, in Brooklyn, NY 🙂 If you’re still interested, you can read the details and sign up here🙂 It is gonna be FUN!

          • Abigail July 20, 2015 at 11:44 am #

Thanks, I’ll check it out!! It’s three hours away from my house, so I’ll have to see…

          • Jody January 1, 2022 at 6:28 pm #

Any plans to come to Minnesota?

  2. Faith January 24, 2018 at 1:58 pm #

    Houston, or Austin please! 🙏🏻

    • LLADYBIRD January 24, 2018 at 4:39 pm #

I’d love to come out there! Can you introduce me to shop who might be interested in hosting me?

      • Debi Mendoza February 4, 2023 at 9:51 am #

I’m in San Antonio, TX but would take a day off and make a day trip to Austin or Houston. I’d love to learn to make my own jeans. I have 1 pair that fit.

  3. Stacy January 29, 2018 at 10:39 am #

Any chance you are coming to the West Coast. San Francisco to be exact.

    • LLADYBIRD May 6, 2018 at 10:32 am #

I’ll be in Berkeley in October! 🙂

      • Jessica April 9, 2021 at 4:38 pm #

I don’t see the Berkeley dates, where will this be?

        • LLADYBIRD April 9, 2021 at 7:34 pm #

That comment is from 2018 🙂 Unfortunately, the shop I teach at in Berkeley was hesitant to book any dates for 2021 (understandably!) so I will not be doing any workshops in Berkeley this year. Hopefully next year! We usually aim for October.

  4. Claudia May 5, 2018 at 4:26 pm #

How about coming to Portland, OR after/before your Berkeley Workshop in October? I work at a shop that offers sewing classes. Please let me know if you are interested and I will talk to the shop owner.

    • LLADYBIRD May 6, 2018 at 10:36 am #

Hello! I actually really did try to get more West Coast stops (in Portland & Seattle) and reached out to some shops, but was not able to secure anything. At this point, I am pretty booked up for 2018 and am not sure if I am able to squeeze in anymore travel this year. That being said, I’d love to chat with your shop about possible 2019 dates if they are indeed interested 🙂 Talk to them and have them email me if they want to discuss details!! And thank you so much for your interest!

  5. Kathy Hills May 11, 2018 at 7:29 am #

I would love to attend one in Florida. South Florida (where I am) doesn’t have a lot of home sewists…but, there are more in the Central Florida area…maybe something can happen in 2019. Have you communicated with any shops in Florida?

    • LLADYBIRD May 11, 2018 at 9:31 am #

I am not aware of any shops in Florida so I haven’t reached out to any. If you have a local shop you’d like to see host, have them get in touch with me!

      • Melanie Frank October 12, 2018 at 4:11 pm #

Reach out to Fay at Sunshine Sewing. http://www.sunshinesewing.com/

      • Melanie December 31, 2018 at 12:30 pm #

Tops Sewing & Vacuum is also a local dealer (all throughout Florida) that hosts classes. Also, Once Upon a Quilt (Dania Beach) hosts classes.

    • Melanie Frank October 12, 2018 at 4:09 pm #

Kathy Hills I also live in South Florida. Broward County

  6. Gage VanderMeer June 3, 2018 at 2:45 pm #

    Los Angeles, by chance?

    • LLADYBIRD June 4, 2018 at 9:56 am #

I’m booked for 2018! If there’s a shop in LA that you have in mind, have them get in touch with me – I’m happy to chat 2019 dates 🙂

  7. Suzi Grossman June 24, 2018 at 5:36 pm #

Hi! I’m interested in taking your class in NH in August, but I can’t stand high waisted jeans, is it possible to do a pattern adjustment to make Ginger Jeans low rise or is that too complicated for the scope of the class?

    • LLADYBIRD June 25, 2018 at 9:29 am #

Hello! There is a low rise version available in the pattern, and also a mid rise version that is available only as a PDF. You are welcome to sew either of those views in class (I recommend doing the mid-rise, the low rise is VERY low), the steps are the same as sewing the high-rise version.

  8. Niki December 17, 2018 at 4:58 am #

Didn’t learn about your Berkeley class until it was too late…any chance you’ll be out at Stonemountain and Daughter any time in the next year? (Please say, “Yes!”)

    • LLADYBIRD December 17, 2018 at 9:25 am #

I’ll be back in Berkeley sometime in October next year (dates are still being confirmed) for another jeans class, although it will be at Hello Stitch Studio. Stonemountain & Daughter doesn’t have the space for classes anymore 🙂 Once the dates are confirmed, I will list them ASAP!

  9. Jhasmine December 29, 2018 at 5:20 pm #

Will you be doing any jeans making workshops in Nashville for 2019?

    • LLADYBIRD December 29, 2018 at 7:08 pm #

No, my only workshop in Nashville is the Archer workshop in January 🙂

  10. Elizabeth December 31, 2018 at 12:26 pm #

I wish you could teach in Los Angeles.

    • LLADYBIRD December 31, 2018 at 12:28 pm #

I would love to; if you have a local shop that you would like to recommend you can have them reach out to me 🙂

  11. Sassysews January 1, 2019 at 1:33 pm #

Please come to California!! Hope about contacting Picking Daisies in San Luis Obispo or Birch Fabric (Fabric Worm) out of Paso Robles, CA? Both are located on the Central Coast of California, so we are equidistant from LA and San Francisco!!! I’d love to meet you and learn from the Lladybird god’dress’. 😉

    • LLADYBIRD January 2, 2019 at 1:24 pm #

Hi! If there is a shop you’d like to recommend me to, please get in touch with them and have them reach out to me to discuss 2020 dates (my 2019 is completely booked at this point).

  12. Jolianne Jolicoeur (@Jolianne50) January 8, 2019 at 10:57 am #

Hi Lauren! Manon and I (the 2 frenchies at Camp workroom social) have just registered for your Ginger jeans class in Ottawa in may! I will finally cut into that cone mills denim I’m hanging on to since last year! We are looking forward to see again!

    • LLADYBIRD January 8, 2019 at 10:58 am #

      Omg yay!!! So excited!! <333

  13. Sonya Webster January 10, 2019 at 10:04 pm #

Will you be doing a jean class in Nashville in 2019? I would love to take it. Thank you Sonya

    • LLADYBIRD January 11, 2019 at 10:02 am #

Hi! The only workshop I’m teaching in Nashville is the Archer workshop in January.

  14. bluejenables March 18, 2019 at 2:57 pm #

Damn girl! You are finally in my city for what appears to be nine days in April and it’s all sold out and I’ll be eight months pregnant at that point. Haven’t been sewing/reading sewing blogs in a while but you’ve always been one of my very favourites, and I’ve been reading your blog since probably 2012. So allow me to congratulate you on your success – you’ve worked very hard for it! Enjoy your time in Vancouver, I have a feeling you’ll love it if it’s your first time here.

    • LLADYBIRD June 8, 2019 at 11:04 am #

thank you so much! I reallllly loved Vancouver and definitely want to make it back there in 2020! It’s such a magical place!

  15. liv May 20, 2019 at 3:35 pm #

I love that you are coming to portland OR, just wish I would have know about this sooner. 😦 don’t have the funds, nor the time to save them up. Hope you hit here again sometime.

    • LLADYBIRD June 8, 2019 at 11:03 am #

I’m so sorry! I’m sure I will be back – I really love Portland!

  16. knittingjourneys June 8, 2019 at 8:53 am #

I am very interested in taking your jeans course! I live in the East Tennessee region and will travel to a class. When will you have your 2019 classes listed? Thanks!

    • knittingjourneys June 8, 2019 at 8:54 am #

      Oops! I mean 2020!

    • LLADYBIRD June 8, 2019 at 11:03 am #

Hi! 2020 dates probably won’t get listed until much later in the year or possibly early next year as I haven’t even thought about those dates yet:)

  17. Patty August 27, 2019 at 2:45 pm #

Do you have any future plans to come to Southern California?

    • LLADYBIRD August 27, 2019 at 2:47 pm #

Probably not, at least not through the end of 2020.

  18. kclay56 October 13, 2019 at 8:35 pm #

    Ever come to Boston?

    • LLADYBIRD October 14, 2019 at 10:13 am #

I don’t have any plans to, sorry! The closest states I’ll be at are New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire!

  19. Anonymous January 16, 2020 at 11:55 pm #

I would love to take your jeans workshop in Denver. Unfortunately, both are already sold out. I will have to keep my eyes open for other opportunities next year.

    • LLADYBIRD January 17, 2020 at 10:02 am #

Aw, bummer you didn’t get in this year! Maybe next year 🙂 thanks for letting me know – I’ll update the page to reflect that FTC is sold out (FYI people do drop out from time to time so I’d suggest getting on their waiting list – you never know when a spot might be available!)

      • SS December 10, 2021 at 11:26 pm #

Fancy Tiger sold out in hours :/ I’m on the wait list but how about a third date 😉

  20. Susan Horton January 28, 2020 at 10:38 am #

I just arrived yesterday from the jeans workshop at Crafty Gemini in FL and WOW!!!!! I am so happy that I drove the 6 hours to this class! Lauren is top notch and I learned sooooo much (new to garment sewing)! Lauren, thank you for sharing all your tips and tricks and loved having samples to try on so we could get a perfect fit! So happy with this class! I already washed my jeans and they didn’t fall apart (ha) and fit perfectly! Starting on sewing another pair today!!! 👍

    • LLADYBIRD January 29, 2020 at 10:09 am #

Susan, it was so wonderful having you in class this last weekend! ❤ I'm so happy to hear that you love your jeans *and* that you've started a new pair already!! Welcome to the amazing world of garment sewing! 😀

  21. Mary Lynn March 19, 2020 at 10:37 pm #

Do you ever have any in the south????? I think you live in Nashville, right?

    • LLADYBIRD March 20, 2020 at 10:31 am #

I do live in Nashville, and we had a jeans workshop here in February. My next/closest workshop would be either Gainesville FL or Alexandria VA. Unfortunately there is not much of a demand for workshops in the south so I tend to travel for them. I’m not sure if I will offer a workshop in Nashville in 2021.

  22. Wendy August 16, 2020 at 9:57 am #

Do you come to Canada at all!?!

    • LLADYBIRD August 17, 2020 at 1:26 pm #

I usually do but right now Canada has closed it’s borders to the US due to the pandemic. I’m not sure when we will be allowed back 😦

      • Wendy August 17, 2020 at 6:04 pm #

Oh right, forgot about that. Hopefully this will be over soon, I’d love to take a class!

  23. Ms LoriAnne Gamble January 1, 2021 at 8:07 pm #

SHIT! I’m going to cry! Seeing an old cry isn’t pretty. I was signed up for your August class in Florida and of coarse didn’t get to go. Now you’re not coming back! WWAAAAA

    • LLADYBIRD January 2, 2021 at 12:05 pm #

I’m so sorry! Last I heard from Vanessa, she wasn’t sure what the status of the shop would be next year so she did not opt to plan 2021 workshops. Pandemic kinda ruined everything for everyone this last year!

  24. Jenna May 4, 2021 at 11:01 pm #

Ever come down to Texas? Sounds like a fun class!

    • LLADYBIRD May 5, 2021 at 10:42 am #

I’m not aware of any shops in Texas that host workshops, but if you’ve got a spot in mind please feel free to have them reach out to me!

  25. Makenzie July 9, 2021 at 8:26 am #

Do you ever do classes in nashville? I’d love to learn jeans making and I’d be interested in meeting people who sew in real life!

    • LLADYBIRD July 9, 2021 at 9:49 am #

I don’t; I prefer to travel for my workshops. Not sure if that will change in the future but it is the case for right now. I’m sorry!

  26. Phyllis Lively September 27, 2021 at 10:41 am #

would you consider coming to Texas to teach?

    • LLADYBIRD September 27, 2021 at 3:17 pm #

        @Lauren
Stitchhouse in Plano TX. They are a Janome / Bernina retailer but they have a huge modern space. They do host events in their big main space but they also have 3 smaller classrooms , I think. I recently discovered them when I ordered a less than ideal model of Janome serger and I needed an understanding this new machine…(my old Juki was being weird and figured I would get back up till she was repaired).
They are super kind and cool folks.
        http://www.shopstichhouse.com

I’ll have to see if I can drive my A to New Orleans from Dallas lol. Alterations + repairs are my jam, would be cool to see your take. Small changes can impact that silhouette! Great subject to teach. I enjoy the zero or minimal waste aspect of it as well. Anything to reinforce my textile hoarding habits (✿ ♥‿♥)
