lladybird: fall/winter 2010

20 Oct

i originally started this blog to post pictures of my clothing line, lladybird (hence why the blog is ‘lladybird’ and not something clever, witty or, at the very least, involving my name somehow). lately, though, my poor clothing line has become my bastard child… much like this blog, actually. HA!

ok ok, so anyway, i made a cute new little collection and had it photographed last month by a lovely photographer, shea! this shit was legit – we even had hair and makeup done!

photos are under the cut because uhh there are a lot of them.

the plaid inset in this one was originally a sweatshirt!
the white fabric used is some super soft, cozy, almost flannel-y stretch knit. i don’t even remember where i bought it, but yeesh i sure bought a lot and i hope i never ever run out.

plaid sweatshirt, take 2!
the shirt was also made by me… no before pictures, but it was your standard run-of-the-mill screenprinted tshirt. i changed the sleeves and added the pocket!

love this picture

another vintage reconstruction… the original dress came from the bargin basket at local honey :3

don’t care much for the skirt (it was mostly made just to give the models something to cover their butts haha), but i looove how the jacket turned out! it was originally a huge raglan sleeve sweatshirt. the skirt was also a sweatshirt. the undershirt, which you can’t really see in this picture, is all lace.

many many MANY thanks to shea for doing this FANTASTIC photos for me (seriously y’all i can’t get over them, esp the last black/white shot) and thanks to the girls for the hair and makeup and modeling. i can’t do jack with photos and god knows i’m an awfully awkward model, so it is really nice to have someone else take care of that stuff so i can just make clothes and know that the pictures are going to turn out really nice and worthy of showing off! yeah!
