Hey everyone! Just a quick post to let y’all know (well, those of y’all who can actually see this – I’m not sure how many there are) that I’m currently having issues with my domain and that’s the reason why the blog has been quiet. The short story is that the domain is registered in someone else’s name (a friend who originally help me set all this shit up a couple of years ago when I moved to my .com), and he let it expire and I cannot do anything to turn it back on until he releases it to me. This process is taking a LOT longer than it should, pretty much everyone is dragging their feet, but there’s not anything I can do until he sends in the documentation and the domain company transfers everything over (trust me, I’ve spent hours on the phone talking in circles – I don’t have this blog set up as a business, so I have no legal right to it as far as what the company is telling me).
I haven’t abandoned blogging – just waiting to fix this hiccup so I can go back to posting. I miss you guys! I’m sorry this week has been so quiet, but if it makes you feel any better – I’m having a rough time of it right now. Fingers crossed that we can get this back up and running as quickly as possible! In the meantime – lladybird.wordpress.com is still 100% working and active. It’s just lladybird.com that is down. If you’re having problems accessing an old post (or the blog in general), just add the wordpress to the url and it should work fine. In the meantime, I won’t be publishing new posts until I get this sorted out.
Thanks for your patience, and thanks to everyone who has contacted me about my site being down. I really appreciate it! Here’s to hoping we’ll have this back up sooner than later 🙂
Oh Lauren I am sure you will be able to fix your problems in no time. Sending you good vibes!!!! And looking forward to new posts pretty soon!
Thank you! I hope we can get it fixed soon too. And then I can go back to regular posting! I miss it! D:
If Amelia could glare, hiss, and/or threaten all concerned with the Claws of Doom…
Then we’d have this solved a LOT faster! 😉
This is great news!! I just found you and your blog a few weeks ago and then it was all gone. I was really disappointed; so sorry this is happening to you. You are fantastic and I am excited to read all of your posts from the beginning!! Please know that you have a new and happy fan!!
Aw, I’m so sorry! I know, it’s really frustrating… at least it can be accessed through wordpress (although I’m having a helluva a time getting that word out, since everything links to the .com, argh!). Thank you so much for your encouragement 😀 I hope to be back up as soon as I can!
Good luck fixing it! I was trying to get to your invisible zipper tutorial and couldn’t). You’d think I’d have it memorized by now!
Thank you! You can access the tutorial if you put .wordpress in the link (or just click here 🙂 )
You are probably getting all kinds of things sewn up too, being that your area is still getting very shitty weather…
You’d think that, but my house is currently so cold I can’t bear to pull myself away from the space heater! Ha! Winter sucks hahaha
Sounds like you need some insulation! There’s also a tut on sewing draft dodgers on Bernina’s blog.
I agree with Denise. We just had had more insulation added to our attic. Done by Terminix, yup, that Terminix. A couple of years ago Terminix also insulated our floors and pipes in our crawl space.
I had no idea Terminix did insulation, how funny! I’d love to get some in my house, but I’m a renter and I’m not about to pay for that shit if I don’t own the property 🙂 lol
Oh yeah, this drafty old house could use insulation! I’m a renter, though, and I’m not about to shell out $$$ on someone else’s house haha! On the flip side, we’re about to move into a new house that has really good insulation, so it’ll be a moot point soon enough 😀
Ah well. It does give me proper time to lurk your closet without getting bogged down by new posts😀.
That’s a positive way of looking at it! 🙂
ugh- hope it all gets worked out soon
You and me both!
Such a bummer for you, hope you’re able to resolve it all! The good news is that this showed up in my feed reader at least, so maybe a lot of people are still able to get to it that way. 🙂
Oh, that is good to know! I wasn’t sure if it would show up in feed readers, I guess it just depends on if they have the .com or the .wordpress loaded. It just showed up in mine after about an hour delay (is it weird that I have my own blog in my feed reader? It’s so I can check on stuff like this! haha!), so fingers crossed!
How frustrating! You’ll be missed… Hope it gets sorted soon.
I miss y’all as well! Hoping I can get it all fixed quickly.
Well, that’s sucky I guess I’m gonna hafta send you an Axl picture to cheer you up.
Axl pictures ALWAYS cheer me up 😀
FYI, I’m seeing you in my WP reader.
Ah, that is good to know!
😦 You have been missed! Hope all goes well and everything is back to normal (yes, a relative term) soon.
Thank you! I hope so, too!
Glad to see that you are up and running 🙂
Running at about 75%… hope to be at 100% soon 🙂
Sending positive vibes and just letting you know that you can count one more person who “found” you at the wordpress url when your .com quit working.
Aw, thank you! I’m glad to hear that people are still able to find me – that is reassuring. I hate it when my favorite sites die out without warning, and I didn’t want anyone to think I had done that 🙂
That sounds sooo frustrating! Hope it gets worked out soon!
Yah, it’s been a bad week (at least related to this shit!). Fingers crossed!
Sounds painful 😦 hope things improve sooner rather than later
Me too! Working on it (wahh I hate internet computer stuff haha)!
Cutting and pasting text does not equal the fun of cutting and sewing fabric!!!
Well, that sucks…hope you’ll be able to sort this out soon! Good luck!
Thank you!
Ugh!!! I love and hate technology. I read your posts a couple times a week and I have it conveniently bookmarked on my iPad. When I didn’t see it I freaked and was sad, so I googled “what happened to Lladybird?” And I found your word press. Thank you for taking the time to do all of your posts. I love all of your pictures and your writing cracks me up! I hope your domain issues get resolved. Just know that you have a lot of readers who appreciate the pain in the butt you’re going through…that sounded weird but you know what I mean, I hope! Thanks!
Aw I’m so sorry I freaked you out! It’s such a bummer when a site you like just disappears off the net – definitely don’t want to be that person (at least, not now – I’m not bored with this blog quite yet 😉 haha!). Thank you for your reassuring words, they really do help! ♥
I just checked the old domain, it looks like it’s back up for sale. Maybe you can buy it this time in your own name! 🙂
I saw that too, but I think they have to hold it for something ridiculous like 90 days before I can buy
the good news is that I finally got all my documentation I need for the release, so hopefully we can get this sorted out very quickly now!
Totes lame, but woohoo on getting the documentation!
😀 !!!
I feel for you. I linked to your shirts last week and used the wordpress address. When the domain’s back up, give me a shout out and I’ll modify the link. Courage ma belle.
Everything seems to be back up and running 🙂 I wouldn’t worry about editing the links, though – everything should redirect to the .com (or so I am told haha). Let them do the work for you 🙂 hah!
I received the post about your domain issues. Good luck!
Oh yay! I’m glad the feed readers worked through all the drama 😀
That domain stuff SO sucks. Nothing to be done in this case either for like 90 days unless you’re willing to pay an arm and a leg. I manage several sites as a re-hoster and it even happened to me. I paid my hosting company in CA for the renewal, and they didn’t renew the domain. One of my clients didn’t share my hoster’s political bent so even though I paid the domain renewal fee to them, they didn’t renew the domain name with ICANN. I sent a gazillion emails to their customer service and lost my mind. No matter right or left, business is business so that’s total BS. I mean, who do they think they are? The IRS! I had to register a new domain name for my client at my expense and thank goodness I developed all my files locally on my laptop and had saved copies of the pages instead of only on their servers. My new hoster is good so far. They are outside of the US and I transferred all my other 21 sites to this other company. FWIW never use Web Intellects.
Oh gah, that sounds like such a huge headache! I can’t believe they didn’t renew based on such shitty reasons – that’s not right at all. I’m SUPER lucky I didn’t have to pay a bunch of money to get my domain back (I’ll be honest – if it had come to that, I probably would have killed the website. Can’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars re-establishing a domain that’s not my primary source of income, you know?), as they at least kept it in holding until we got all the documentation sent in. Anyway, advice duly noted! Web Intellects will never get business from me haha 🙂
You’re back! Yaya!
Yeaaah!! Feels so good to be home 😀
Receiving you loud and clear on my Bloglovin’ link! Thank goodness because you always brighten my day.
Oh, that’s so good to hear! I’m glad everything is back up and running again 😀
I’m a relatively new finder of yours (not gonna say follower because it’s nowhere near that regular an occurrence). Best of wishes to you as you “Deal With It!” Good thing that’s been your motto all along! I wish I had some advice to give you. Nothing except, don’t give up! At least it gives me a chance to catch up on all your old posts!
Thank you so much for your comment! Dealing with it has been a pain, but we managed to power through. Yay! 😀
Looking forward to you being back, at least you can make loads of outfits in the meantime, yay!
We’re back up and running (for the most part). And yes, loads of outfits are in the works as we speak 😀
OMG you were gone forEVER. At least it felt that way. Just in time too, I’m getting ready to slice into my V1419 for the buttonholes and I want, no–NEED, your pretty pictures. (yeah, I know, I’m only 6 months behind).
Welcome back. The internet nearly imploded without you.
haha, thank you! I felt like I was going through withdrawals for a minute there! 🙂
And hey, 6 months behind is still better late than never! 🙂
RSS for the win! I never missed any of your posts because I subscribe to your feed.
